Lamayuru to Alchi Trek
One among the most sorted out mini classic trek, which let you walk pass amidst themost beautiful villages of Ladakh. The first day is an easy hike for about 3 to 3 and half hours via a small pass of 3900mtrs (Prinkitila). Before you began your first day trek must visit the famous monastery of Lamayouru. There are several monasteries along the route. Your hike will end at Alchi village, before you drive back to Leh (2hrs) visit the world famous fresco and paintings of Alchi monastery, dated back to11century.
Itinerary
Day 01: Leh – Lamayuru (120 Kms.).Four to five hours drive will take us to Lamayuru which is one of the oldest and most famous monastery in the region situated on the National Highway route to Srinagar; Day to visit around the village and the monastery, overnight in tents.Day 02: Lamayuru – Wanla 4/5 Hrs. Trek.Today is our first day to start trek immediately steep down and cross the stream, the gradually climbing across a mountainside and reach Prinkiti La 3720 Mtrs. Continue walk to Shilla then to Wanla. Visit the monastery, overnight in Tents.
Day 03: Wanla – Urshi 6/7 Hrs. Trek.Leave in the morning and easy ascending upto the destination. Arrive in the evening, overnight in Tents.
Day 04: Urshi – Tarla – Tar 8/9 Hrs. Trek.This is the difficult day but panoramic too, the path is well-marked and steep ascending upto Tarla 5250 Mtrs. 5 ½ walk. Another three hours descend and arrive at village of Tar, overnight in Tents.
Day 05: Tar – Manggyu 4/5 Hrs. Trek.Leave after breakfast and the path goes up along mountainside to a small pass, and then easy descends towards Mang gyu. This is attractive village with interesting monastery. Good campsite near the stream, overnight in Tents.
Day 06: Manggyu – Gera – Alchi 4/5 Hrs Trek – Leh 2 Hrs. Drive.
From here goes path into a beautiful narrow valley, after two hours reach the Indus Valley at Gera village. Follow the Indus up stream cross Lardo continue until reaching the motorable road, Three kilometers before Alchi. Another one-hour time will take us to Alchi monastery. Drive to Leh which will take us 2Hrs. Trek ends here
What to expect on home-stay trekking
Meals: you will be served with tea and local cookies on your arrival. Your dinner will be served on your preferred time (mostly by 7 to 8 PM). Let them know your meal timing & specification at least an hour before. Breakfast will be served with tea coffee, eggs local Jam & breads.
Night Out: You will be provided with clean bed cover and blanket at all home stays, however we suggest you to take along your own sleeping bag.
Toilet: At most of the homestay there is only local dry toilet facilities, you will find WC at some places only on Sham trek, hence we suggest you to take along your own stock of toilet paper and other sanitary needs.
Drinking Water: You will be provided boiled water for drinking purposes, even-though we suggest you to carry your own water purifier pills (iodine) or other purification equipment, and always refill your bottle in the morning for rest of the day hike.
Pack Lunch: Lunch will be provided as a packed lunch every morning before; you begin your day hike if they don't (sometime might forget) remind them to pack one for you. Other beverages like could drinks beer or extra tea coffee are available on extra payment at most of the places.

Extras during trekking:
There will be a wildlife fee of Rs 20 per person per day on Marka valley trek, if you visit a monastery in villages or along the way, might charge an entrance fee of Rs.20 to Rs30

Any booking cancelled 15-days prior to the trekking date 50% of the total amount will be refund. Booking cancelled within 07 days of trekking day 75% will be deducted Booking cancelled prior to 30 days of trekking date only 10% booking fee will be deducted. Any booking cancelled at last moment less then a week time no refund will be issued. Any booking cancelled at last moment (3-days before departure) due to reasons which are beyond our control like bad weather, road blockage or any other natural calamity, due to political reasons NO refund will be issued, but we try our best to postponed/Date change or take an alternative route or a different trip to adjust your payment
