Sham Valley Home-stay Trekking
Drive towards west of Ladakh for an hrs and reach Likir village (you have option to visit the famous monastery before you begin your hike).Sham valley is known as Ladakhs cultural hub. These four days trek is very popular among solo trekkers, those who like to know about ladakh culture and way of life. Its an easy four day hike, you cross the maximum pass is only 3900mtrs. There are three easy passes to cross during the trek. You end your trek at Themisgam village and next day take the village transport bus back to leh or further hike to the main highway to find a shared taxi or any other means of transport back to leh. 
 
Itinerary
Day 01: Drive by taxi or take a bus ride to Likir village and trek to Yangthang ,village for about 3-hrs over a small pass of 3800mtrs. Reach Yangthang and check in home-stay.
Day 02: After breakfast start your trek, there are two option to reach Hemis Shukpachen village.  One via the Rizdong monastery (You need a guide for this route) the normal route is about 3hrs hike via a small pass. Hemis shukpachen is a lush green  village  with a huge community. The local beer (chang) is very popular here, beside that there is a small village monastery. Overnight is home-stay.
Day 03: Hike via a flat terrain for an hrs. Enjoy the magnificent mountain view through the small gorge till the base of the pass. Cross the highest pass of this trek 4900mtrs. After the pass, its an easy down hill hike through the zigzag path, till you reach the Aang village stream. Further your hike via the jeep route for half an hour to reach the main village of Themisgam. Overnight home-stay.
Day 04: Morning drive back to Leh by local bus with your guide (4hrs half hrs).Or if you booked a pick up taxi (with the extra service) the taxi would be waiting for you outside your homestay. On the way you can stop and enjoy the landscape and take  pictures. 3hrs drive.

Extras during trekking: There will be a wildlife fee of Rs 20 per person per day on Marka valley trek, if you visit a monastery in villages or along the way, might charge  an entrance fee of Rs.20 to Rs30
Why Book with Us: You’re booking with a local booking office located in Ladakh itself (no middle man commission) means your benefiting the local community directly to encourage using more locally produced good and generate direct income from the visitors to the village households.  Thus they are (the village community) more personal, eco-conscious and respect wild life to attract more guests.
Our Guide: Our guides are natives who know the trail and how to use those, acquainted with flora and fauna. Will guide you and teach the local way of life, means more interaction with the local community along the trekking trail. Will take care of you at utmost for safety, and comfort.
  What to expect ?
What to expect on home-stay trekking
Meals: you will be served with tea and local cookies on your arrival. Your dinner will be served on your preferred time (mostly by 7 to 8 PM). Let them know your meal timing & specification an hour in advance .   
02: Breakfast will be served with tea coffee, eggs local Jam & breads from 7Am to 9AM.
Night Out: You will be provided with clean bed cover and blanket at all home stays, If you like to use your own, we suggest you to take along your own sleeping bag.
Toilet: in All home stay, there is only local dry toilet facilities available, you will find WC at some places only on Sham trek, hence we suggest you to take along your own stock of toilet paper and other sanitary needs.
Drinking Water:  You will be provided boiled water for drinking purposes, even-though we suggest you to carry your own water purifier pills (iodine) or other purification equipment, and always refill your bottle in the morning for rest of the day hike.
Pack Lunch:  Lunch will be provided as a packed lunch every morning before, you begin your day hike.  Other beverages like cold drinks beer or extra tea coffee are available on extra payment in most of the home-stays.

Any booking cancelled 15-days prior to the trekking date 50% of the total amount will be refund. Booking cancelled within 07 days of trekking day 75% will be deducted Booking cancelled prior to 30 days of trekking date only 10% booking fee will be deducted.  Any booking cancelled at last moment less then a week time no refund will be issued. Any booking cancelled at last moment (3-days before departure) due to reasons which are beyond our control like bad weather, road blockage or any other natural calamity, due to political reasons NO refund will be issued, but we try our best to postponed/Date change or take an alternative route or a different trip to adjust your payment

When you make a booking with us, by necessity more information is stored.

  1. The technicalites of the booking form are captured and retained for a maximum of 60 days. This is required so that On Request bookings can be turned into full bookings once a booking is approved, and for analysis by our teams in case there is an issue with a booking. If you were not logged in when you made a booking then we will email you a username and password so that you can view your booking history and exercise your Right To Be Forgotten (RTBF) if you wish to do that.
  2. Data entered into the booking form, for example name, email address, real address is stored for a maximum of 365 days after the booking's departure date. This information is stored in encrypted form in our database so that only authorised people can view it. If you make a booking then by law we must store your PII whilst the booking is valid. Once the booking has completed, either because it has been cancelled or you have been checked out, then you will be able to exercise your RTBF by logging in and visiting the "Your data" page. Invoice information for completed bookings will still be securely stored in our database to ensure that we abide by relevant tax laws but you will be able to remove all other PII after the booking is completed.
  3. When you consent to your information being stored as described above, we are legally obliged to store this consent in our database. This information will include your IP number and the content of the opt-in form. We will retain this consent notification indefinately (this is a legal requirement).
